As with most of Telltale's modern adventure games, Batman is comprised of 5 episodes and incorporates the traditional Telltale style of gameplay along with some "new" elements. The player will be play as both Batman and Bruce Wayne (more Bruce than Batman,) and will be making choices that will shape what the city of Gotham will be and the people he comes across.
The game features a similar comic art style akin to one of Telltale's past games, The Wolf Among Us.
Telltale has stated that the game is being made with an upgraded version of their Telltale engine that has powered the previous Telltale games.
The game will also include a feature called Crowd Play. It works a bit like the Jackbox Party Pack games where people will put in a unique URL into their device. They can vote for dialogue options and the big important decisions that happen and the player can have the option of either letting the game automatically pick the most popular choice or just manually picking their preferred choice. This mode is designed to work in a local sense with 4-12 players watching the same screen.
